We need YOU. Join Pro Design Blog Social Network Today!

    Mission

There are a million blogs out there about Web Design, Graphics & Development that are all unique and offer great content. What makes Pro Design Blog Social Network different is that we are a community based on YOU. You provide the content, the resources and the innovation that makes up what Pro Design Blog Social Network is and will be. Think of it as your Open Source Web Design portal, the Wikipedia of Web Design & Development.

A lot of other sites offer great resources, content and inspiration to fellow web designers but they often lack the one thing in which we are trying to accomplish. That is engaging the Web Design community and allowing an Open Forum for people to share and connect. What makes Pro Design Blog Social Network different is that YOU are different. The idea that we will not conform to one way, one channel, one source because as Web Designers, Developers, Graphic Artists we are all unique and different. We all have something Different to offer.

Moo Bar, A Free Customizable Javascript Network Bar

Moo Bar is a neat little Javascript toolbar from DesignMoo that is similar to those from Facebook and Meebo. The script is that of the actual DesignMoo network bar that is displayed on the bottom of all their network web sites. They went public with the script today and it’s available for download under the Creative Commons Attribution License. Details are below along with instructions, download link and license details. Enjoy!

Ever wanted to have a network toolbar on your website or network of sites? Well, your search ends here. The Moo Bar is a simple, framework independent (meaning it doesn’t require jQuery, Mootools, YUI, Prototype, etc.) javascript toolbar you can embed on your website with a single line of code. This page shows an example of the toolbar attached to the bottom of your browser window.

    Download, Customize, Upload, and Install

(Click here to demo the bar before downloading)

    1. Download the files!
    2. Edit the variables in moobar.js to reflect your own data. The file is commented with special instructions to make it super easy. Make sure you edit the unordered list to include the links for the menu that you would like to use.
    3. Edit the images in /moobar/images/ to look the way you want. I would recommend keeping them the same size to avoid styling/functionality issues.
    4. Upload the folder to the base URL you set in your Javascript file.
    5. Embed the Javascript bar into each site using the following code (make sure to replace the path with the one you’ve uploaded the files to):
      <script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://www.yourwebsite.com/moobar/moobar.js”></script>

If you do happen to use this code, please let us know in the comments and we’d love to link to your site as an example of the network bar in use.

The MooBar by Designmoo is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 United States License.
Based on a work at http://www.designmoo.com.
Permissions beyond the scope of this license may be available at http://www.designmoo.com/blog/moobar.

Sweet! A Free Privacy Policy / Terms Of Service Generator

Ever worked on a project and needed to write a privacy policy or terms of service page within an short amount of time? Meet my best little friend, Ben Nadels Privacy Policy / Terms Of Service Generator!

Bens is the chief software engineer at Epicenter Consulting, a boutique software company in New York City that specializes in developing high-end, customized business solutions using ColdFusion and jQuery. Ben decided to develop a form that will generate a generic Terms of Service and Privacy Policy statement for use with your web site. It is based off of the template that was taken from a House of Fusion forum thread and has not, in any way, been reviewed by a lawyer.

Just type in the name of your company as well as the state your company operates in and wa la! You got yourself a Privacy Policy that might not have been reviewed by a lawyer but looks pretty dang official to us!

Check it out here at http://www.bennadel.com/coldfusion/privacy-policy-generator.htm.

    Web Safe Fonts CSS, Typechart

Ever wondered before using a “crazy” font whether or not the user on the other end may be able to view it? On my quest to find out which fonts are truly web safe I came across a really sweet reference site. Typechart lets you flip through, preview and compare web typography while obtaining the CSS.

Typechart doesn’t feature all web safe fonts however you can verify using their “Key” for non web safe fonts. All the fonts listed do work in modern browsers and computers. Your able to preview the font before you grab the CSS code for it which is neat.

    Typechart features the following fonts:

Bookmark this excellent reference site, you may find out day you will need it!
